Important update – how to submit health and dental claims effective May 1, 2021

The pandemic has contributed to the acceleration of digital services offered in all areas of daily life and the adoption of those solutions by consumers. A safer way to transact, faster access to claim proceeds and environmental benefits are all advantages associated with the significant increase in the usage of digital services.

At iA Financial Group, we want to ensure that group insurance plan members derive the greatest value from their plan, especially when it comes to being reimbursed for their health and dental claims.

Why waste time filling out a paper form, mailing it to us and possibly waiting weeks to receive a cheque when it takes just a few seconds to make a claim online? And, in most cases, claims submitted electronically are processed instantly and the money deposited in plan members’ bank accounts the next day!

It is an ideal time for plan members to make the switch to our digital tools and realize the advantages of the Make a claim function in My Client Space and iA Mobile.

To encourage behavioural changes and ensure the most efficient processes, we will no longer process health and dental claims submitted by email and secure messaging starting May 1, 2021.

Why? Claims submitted those ways are basically the same as sending us an old-fashioned paper form by regular mail, but postage-free. These claim submissions need to be processed manually, are time-consuming and the overall process is inefficient. Plan members who use these two methods to submit their claims will be asked to use the Make a claim function.

The only documents that will still be accepted via secure messaging will be the additional information requested for an existing claim.

In addition, in the coming weeks, we will be working closely with group insurance plan administrators whose groups make limited use or our digital tools and support them with a targeted communication campaign. 

We are confident that these initiatives will produce advantages for plan administrators and plan members by enhancing their experience with iA Financial Group and reinforcing their perceived value of their group insurance plan.

Finally, as we are committed to continuous improvement, we will be considering other initiatives to increase the use of our industry-leading digital tools, including direct deposit.
