iAIM is making changes to general fund-management teams and fixed-income fund-management teams
Group Savings and Retirement April 22, 2021Please note that iAIM is making certain changes to its VP structure regarding general fund management and fixed-income fund management. The new structure aligns with the strategic plan, which aims to increase team specialization and continue to enhance client services.
Benefits
Christian Pouliot, Senior Manager and Strategist, Interest Rates, will focus more on daily portfolio management and oversee fixed-income fund strategy. In addition, he will take on the role of senior manager for long-term strategies, including the Long Term Bond fund. He will report to the new public fixed-income management team, which was created by bringing together the fixed-income fund-management teams and the public corporate bond-management teams. Efforts are well under way to recruit a director for public fixed-income management.
Alexandre Morin remains as Senior Manager, overseeing management of a large proportion of mutual and segregated funds, including the Bond and Long Term Bond funds. Stéphane Gignac joins the team as Senior Analyst (previously with the asset-allocation team within general fund management). The team will continue to report to Christian Pouliot.
Louis Gagnon, Senior Portfolio Manager, joins the portfolio management team, general funds, under the directorship of Martin Pepin.
Charles Barrette and Jean-Pierre D’Agnillo remain as portfolio managers for corporate bonds for both general funds and investment funds. They will report directly to the new director, public fixed-income management.
Conclusion
These changes are favourable to team continuity and in line with their responsibilities. iAIM has always been structured as a collaborative organization based on the sharing of ideas among specialists. Portfolios have always been managed by teams, which we firmly believe ensures smooth transitions. We also believe that this structure fosters an integrated approach by specialty and optimizes each specialist’s expertise. As with all changes, we will exercise oversight to ensure that the quality of the strategies continues to yield the same value to our clients.
