Investment fund managers have made changes within their teams or established transition plans following departures or appointments.

Addenda announces the retirement of Savvas Pallaris and its transition plan

Addenda Capital (Addenda) has announced that Savvas Pallaris, Executive Vice-President, Commercial Mortgages, will retire on March 31, 2026, after a career of nearly four decades, including the last 12 years at Addenda. He will continue to play an active role in managing the strategy until he retires.

Baillie Gifford announces the retirement of Spencer Adair and its transition plan

Baillie Gifford Overseas (Baillie Gifford) has announced that Spencer Adair, portfolio manager of the Baillie Gifford Global Alpha strategy, will retire on March 31, 2026, after 26 years with the firm. Mr. Adair has played a key role in shaping the strategy since its inception in 2005 and became a partner at Baillie Gifford in 2013. He will continue to play an active role in managing the strategy until he retires.

BlackRock announces leadership changes within their Global Fixed Income team

BlackRock, Inc. Asset Management Canada Limited (BlackRock) has announced strategic updates within its Global Fixed Income team:

  • Russ Brownback has officially been promoted to Co-Chief Investment Officer of the Global Fixed Income team. He will continue to serve as Portfolio Manager of the Fixed Income Global Opportunities (FIGO) strategy.
  • Dylan Price has been appointed as Portfolio Manager of FIGO, joining Rick Rieder and Russ Brownback in leading the strategy.
  • Departure of David Rogal, formerly Portfolio Manager of FIGO, who has decided to leave the firm after 20 years to pursue new opportunities.

Mawer announces the departure of Karan Phadke and outlines transition plan

Mawer Investment Management Ltd. (Mawer) has announced that Karan Phadke, co-portfolio manager of the Mawer Global Small Cap Strategy, will be leaving the firm effective December 31, 2025, to pursue other endeavors. Mr. Phadke has served as co-manager of the strategy since 2021 and was a partner at the firm.
