Today’s employees expect their organizations to fully support them in their multiple and diverse needs. That’s why more and more organizations are committed to creating inclusive work environments by implementing a range of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) initiatives.
Integrating a more inclusive approach into benefit programs has thus become an essential strategy for many organizations.
In fact, according to a survey of Canadian employers, 72%1 identified EDI as the external factor having the most significant impact on their benefits strategy.
To support its clients, iA has designed a range of inclusive coverages that can be added to group insurance plans starting in January 2024.
These four new coverages focus on gender affirmation and family support and offer essential assistance to plan members and their dependents.
À la carte coverage for a tailor-made program
As each coverage is offered à la carte, each organization can select those that best meet the diverse needs of its workforce2. Also, for added flexibility, we offer a flexible formula which allows organizations to choose the maximum amounts for each coverage option.
The Gender Affirmation, Fertility and Surrogacy coverages can be added to the supplemental health insurance plan, while the Adoption coverage must be part of an administrative services only (ASO) plan. If you have groups who wish to add these coverages to their plan, simply contact your Account Executive for details. A communiqué will be sent to plan administrators on December 18. See the French version of the communiqué to plan administrators. 1 WTW 2021 Global Benefit Trends, Canada
