Le Grand défi Pierre Lavoie | Mission accomplished for our team

Top stories August 23, 2024

Cold nights, hot days, bad weather, sleepless hours…

None of it dampened the enthusiasm of our cycling team, as they successfully completed all 1,000 km of the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie (GDPL) challenge on June 16.

The spectacular 1,000 km challenge, during which each cyclist pedaled an average of 400 km for three days and two nights, brought together around 1,100 cyclists. This was our second time participating in the GDPL, which this year took place in Quebec City.

Our team rallied

Five members of the Group Insurance and Savings Solutions took part in the 1,000 km challenge. Mathieu Bujold, Krystel Duchesne, Frédéric Leblanc, Marie-Pier Pouliot and Judith Raymond raised over $18,000 in donations, a portion of which will support research on rare hereditary diseases.

The remaining funds will be donated to the Cœurs-Vaillants primary school in Quebec City, sponsored by our team, to help fund projects aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles. Last year, we donated $4,500 to this school.

For the team, participating in the GDPL demonstrates that together, we can make a difference and that physical activity and good lifestyle habits are important for young people’s development.

Participating in this event aligns with our ambition to be present and active in the lives of Canadians, promoting their financial, physical and mental wellbeing.

Is the wellbeing of young people also important to you?

You can still contribute to the cause by visiting our team's web page and, if you wish, by making a donation. Every donation has a significant and positive impact.

On behalf of the young people, we thank in advance those who have supported, or who plan to do so: you are first and foremost supporting the young people and putting our values of overall wellbeing into practice.

Thank you from the bottom of our heart!
