British Columbia | New guide from the BC Financial Services Authority
Group Savings and Retirement January 22, 2026On September 16, 2025, the British Columbia Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) published the Pension Plan Administrators’ Guide: Roles and Responsibilities.
The purpose of this guide is to promote good governance and support effective pension plan administration to safeguard the interests of plan members and beneficiaries. It focuses solely on the minimum standards established for pension plan administrators in British Columbia under the Pension Benefits Standards Act and the Pension Benefits Standards Regulation.
The guide consolidates regulatory information from the BCFSA, guidelines from the Canadian Association of Pension Supervisory Authorities (CAPSA) and other relevant industry resources on pension plan governance and risk management.
It covers topics such as:
