Every year, the end of winter marks not only the imminent return of warmer weather, but also the start of tax season.
This can be stressful for some people, who wonder whether they’ll receive a tax refund, as many Canadians do, or whether they’ll have a balance to pay instead. Add to this the current tenuous geopolitical climate and resulting economic uncertainty, and for many, all the ingredients are there to create an anxiety-inducing cocktail.
A communications campaign promoting financial wellbeing
We are therefore rolling out a communications campaign that will run throughout tax season to accompany and support group retirement savings plan members. Under the theme “Taxes and financial wellbeing? It’s possible!”, the campaign will cover three topics related to tax filing.
We have a number of communications initiatives planned, including newsletters inspired by articles on our education website and messages in My Client Space, which we’ll start releasing soon.
Main campaign topics Tax season fraud attempts During this period ripe for fraud, we’ll equip plan members to avoid falling into certain traps and suffering the consequences. (Article on fraud) Importance of including all expenses and credits Tax refund: a lever and ally for financial health We’ll help plan members who are entitled to a tax refund to make the most of it and turn this temporary surplus into a lasting financial boost.
